relearn questions
I just replaced both batteries today, so I was wondering if I have to do the relearn. The batteries were out for over an hour.
I have a 30 mile ride to work at 4am (highway miles), do I need to do this before I leave, can I do it on the way, or can I wait until later? Thanks, 04 with a 5r110 by the way |

You can do it on the way to work, just drive normal, it should relearn by its self.

TorqShift Harsh/Slipping Engagements, Upshifts, and/or Downshifts:
If these symptoms are experienced after the batteries have been disconnected, then it is due to the transmission adaptive strategy being cleared from the computer. This may occur when the vehicle is delivered new from the factory as well. Warm the engine and transmission to operating temperature. Perform three series of upshifts at light, medium and heavy throttle. Perform three sets of gear engagements (N-R, N-D, D-R, R-D) with the brake pedal firmly depressed and waiting three seconds between each engagement. Peform these steps once in normal mode and once in tow/haul. Broadcast Message 1196 So go through the above process only if I notice it shifting weird? |

Most of us who use a SCT tuner must do a trans relearn everytime we put in tunes to the truck. The SCT pulls out the old tune and puts in a new tune, causing the truck to do the trans relearn.
Sometimes the relearn won't take, then their are a series of driving steps that work to help the trans relearn. They consist of easy to moderate take off's (0-50mph) to force a relearn. |

Will this happen when switching tunes? I went from IDP's street tune to their Extreme street tune. Its shudders so bad i cant drive it with that tune. It runs and drives fine on the stock tuning.
