05 5R110 Replace

I need to know what year 5R110 transmissions will work with my 05, 4x4, diesel. I understand not all years will work because of the electronics. I want to remove my trans (bad) and replace it with another one. Simple bolt in and go.
I have had several opinions, now I need the straight skinny.

From talking to transmission builders 05+ have some changes done to internals as well. I would only go with a 05+ transmission

Thanks for that. So an 05,06,07 will work. Put it in, hook up the wires and I'm good to go?

Yes. I am running a 2009 from dealership that has been rebuilt in 2011. The 2003 and 2004 5r110 had to have upgraded internals. This was doe in 2005. Call it Fords learning curve.

Yup ford upgraded the internals to fix issues. Even the trans from the 08-10 will work.

any year 5r110w will work without issue. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to run any year. 5r110 failures are few and far between. Good luck!
