Trans. noise, possibly?

I've been noticing a whining noise in my truck for a long time but recently it has started getting louder and more noticeable. It is a whining noise that only happens when you are accelerating from a dead stop or when in OD and accelerating fairly hard. It is actually more noticeable when you accelerate slowly from a complete stop. I originally thought it was my turbo making noise and has the same sound as a turbo does when the bearing is going out. It also delays going into any gear when shifting from Park. After in gear, it shifts completely normal. No codes and trans. fluid is good. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what they have done. I remember the 5R110 had a TSB at one point for a planetary gear issue and had something to do with the rivets coming loose and making contact with something inside the trans. causing metal to be thrown through it. That TSB has since expired and I can't find the info right now but I'm looking. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the problems were addressed in the 2005 upgrades. the symptom of the rear planetary issue is when you go into reverse it shudders and jerks like it is coming in and out of gear. it would feel like a stick shift in reverse pushing the clutch in and out. i have blown up and done everything possible to 12 rebuilds of the 2003 5r110 that came in my truck. i currently run a 2009 factory tranny and only have had it rebuilt at ford once. my converter has found just about every 5r110 weakness.

Never had any of that, just a noise. I would say if you have had 13 rebuilds, you need to change driving styles.

oh, i do run the hell out of it, but most of the rebuilds would have been unneccesary if i upgraded to a 2005 or newer model year tranny sooner. many parts were revised inside with the 2005 updates. i just did not know about the bigger and better parts until 2009.

I'm just givin' ya some c**p. I think it's the pump making noise but not for sure. I'll run it until it goes and then it will get a full built SunCoast.

I'll take the number if you don't mind. I plan on building this truck big after I buy a new one. That's the reason I'm thinking full built with billet internals

i am not saying rebuild yours, i am saying get a reman from ford and they will keep yours. when it gives up ford will put all new stuff in the reman, rebuilding it at the dealership.
