Tranny 5r110 clunks during 2-3 shifts at low throttle

ANy ideas? Everyonce and a whle if im just putting around it will shift real hard and clunk???

I have the same problem, but without the hard shift. It just clunks. Hope someone will chime in to help us out

This is a normal, albeit odd, but it is normal backlash in the system.

It's known by Ford too.


Intermittent Clunk from TorqShift Transmission:
Trucks equiped with the TorqShift may exhibit a clunk when shifting from drive or reverse to park, from reverse to drive, and/or at the 2-3 upshift. If these conditions are intermittent, it is normal play/backlash in the drivetrain. Broadcast Message 7028, 0215.
