Shifting Problem

Hello All,

I have 03 F350 SD with the torqueshift tranny 4WD. The other day I was out and about and went to move my truck so started it up and put it in drive and when I hit the gas it went in reverse. I pushed it back to park and tried to move back to drive but the shift lever would only go to reverse and no further down.

I have searched for this problem and am unable to find any solutions, I dont know where to even start looking for the problem. My computer isnt showing any codes and there was no warning that something may be going out.

Has anyone seen or heard about a problem like this? Any response is appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I checked the shifter cable and when disconnected from the transmission it moves fine.
