Too Much Power????

Last night I finished installing the powermax turbo on my 6.0 and was out on a test drive. Everything was going great and the truck was running better than ever and I had power to spare. Then disaster struck. It has a ZF6 tranny in it. I was going up a small overpass incline and it sounded like all the splines on the input shaft just ripped off. the most awful noise I have ever heard from a truck. I pulled over took it out of gear and the tranny was still trying to turn in neutral. I don't know that much about these transmissions but i do know that is not normal. I drove about another 300 yards and the transmission locked up and it is dead now, I am currently looking for a new one now, but here is my concern. Is it possible to have too much horsepower at the engine for the zf6 to handle? I don't think the power has increased that much over stock, maybe 30-40% or so if I had to guess.
Has anyone experienced anything like this in the past? If so any knowledge would be a great big help.

Sorry for your troubles. It looks like the extra power just revealed a weak point in your transmission. I know there are several people running high power tunes with the ZF-6, so it could be yours just had a weak spot, prior damage, or some other isolated cause. However, I don't think a 30-40% increase in power can be considered not much over stock.

yeah that makes sense. and i agree, i think it was old damage that just came to a head when i put the turbo on. i traded the tranny in last night and it was shredded. it had parts laying down in the bottom of it. thanks for your insight to my problem!
