friends 6.0l standard trans problems

my freinds gotan 06 powerstroke with a standard transmission and recently had his tranny fluids changed and some of the hoses were for some reason were left unhooked and tranny was run dry offluids. hoses were replaced and fluids refilled.

Now the transmission is making grinding noises and getting hard to shift. Could this have just screwed the synchro rings or ruined some gears? Im not to familiar on fords and any info would help, I dont want to start tearing into anything without knowing where to start.

Hey,, you can't be running Mopar signs on a Ford site and expect help!!!!
Just kidding, I've owned Ford, Chevy and Dodge at the same time.
Who left the lines loose??? If tranny was run dry, that is NOT good!
