Relearning the transmission

I have been told that you can do a sequence of putting the gear selector into different gears to have the tq shift learn how the driver uses the truck. I have a programmer and exhaust. Can anyone help me on this!

An old method was to unhook the batts for 30 mins or more so the puter could "forget", hook batts back up and then drive as you normally would.

I dont hink it would matter, but I would just to be safe. Also, the relearning process just lets it learn your driving habits, and it adjusts shift points ,etc to the way you drive. I dont believe it will help with any slipping issues.

what kind of programmer are you using? Is it a stock tranny? Any problems in the past with the tranny? I think, if your tranny is slipping then it's slipping. unhooking the batteries will erase your kam and I've read it takes around 500 miles for the pcm to relearn your driving habits. good luck.
