when i put my tranny into drive 2 or 3, it will not shift up from drive 1. It just stays in the gear i put it in. It works fine in drive though. Any ideas???

yes mine goes in to the gear selected so if i put it in 3 that is where it goes and stays. It does not bother me i have fun putting it in 3 and leaving a light with some little ricer next to me rollin coal black smoke into their window but thats besides the point. yes your tranny is fine. they will be in the gear you select. Now what i didnt know until a while ago is that in D it does not use second gear unless its cold or in tow haul mode. So it shifts 1-3-4-5-od.
