trannie leaked now having problems????
ok so i have an 05 f250 it now has 140k on it... its a plow truck and we just had a blizzard in ny and its my plow truck... i did get stuck a few times and had to rock myself out... i have kept up with tranny servicing fluid was clean and pink and filters were clean... only my last driveway noticed it taking awhile to pop into gear, on my drive hope while coasting down a hill the tow/haul started flashing then it went into limp mode. I got the truck home and found a puddle of tranny fluid under the truck. I found a leak on what looks like the pan or the cooling line on the back of the trannie... so i torqued down all the bolts tightened the cooler line and the back plate of the tranny all were slightly loose. looks like the leak stopped then added 10 quarts of fluid just to get it back to operating range. Test drove the truck and everything seems fine now it shifts well no more light flashing. But when the truck coasts or you come to a stop the tranny kicks a little, some times when you stop it feels like the trannie dis-engages.. i hit the gas and the rpms go up with then the truck doesnt move for a second or 2 than it kicks and drives fine??????? any ideas????
