transmission service

How many of you service your own transmissions? do you change just the external filter or drain the whole system and refill?

I usually remove the drain plug on the tranny pan which drains out 8 to 10 quarts (if my memory serves me right). Then I replace the little toilet paper looking filter which is on the passenger front near the radiator. Refill and go again for another 15k miles.

I realize that this doesn't drain/flush the entire system but doing it often enough takes care of keeping the fluid in good shape.
