Cold tranny question?

I'm curious on how many of you guys have shifting problems when your truck is cold? When I start to drive my truck in the morning it doesn't like to shift until I let off of my throttle. If I don't let off of the throttle it will climb up to 3000-3500 rpms or whenever I let off the throttle. I plug my truck in all night and it will still do it and its like 40* outside at night. Once my truck is warm it seems to shift just fine. Is this normal or not?

That is interesting. If i remember right i saw in another post your truck is in for some last minute warranty service i would have them look at the tranny while they are at it. That doesnt seem quite right not shifting cold

you might have seen it on another post. I'm a member of 2 sites and posted the same on both trying to get any kind of answer. It is in for some work and they are looking at my tranny but they say its normal but I don't think it is at +40* out and it still does this. They replaced my turbo because it was surging and said that would also cause my transmission to have shift problems but it still doesn't like to shift if its cold. I have all the heater add ons including the tranny pan and plug it in all night at 40* and still have the same problem.

When my tranny is cold it shifts hard but once its warm it shifts smoothly. But I keep my foot out of the throttle until my engine temp has gone past the first line.

Well I just talked with ford. They got it to do what it was doing for me and now its a battle of the techs. One tech says its a transmission problem and another tech says it a drive ability problem. So they have had it for over a week now and all they have seem to do is argue. I don't know what to do now.
