tranny pan help
so i was pulling the camper the other day and my trany temp was about 180 and it was leaking around the trany pan so i was gonna change the gasket but when i went to take the bolt out thay were loose so i just ended up changing the filter the new one didnt feel tight tho will it stay in place and how many quarts does it take to feel the pan back up?

As to the FILTER? not feeling tight make sure you got the old rubber ring that goes around the filter tube OUT. When I did mine the first time the rubber seal/ring (like the one on you new filter at the end of the tube) from my old filter came off the tube and got stock up in the hole. It is a bear to get it out but the filter is supposed to sorta "snap" into place.
As to how much fluid, I pull a 5th wheel so I put a MAG HYTEC trany pan on and it really helps keep the temps down and it hold (I am not exactly sure) 4 to 6 QTS more trany fluid. Hope this helps. |
