6.0 tranny, need help

my tranny made a sound in reverse at idle like an engine rod knocking. not engine problem. give a touch of rpm and it went away. went back 30 minutes later and no more problem. also been shifting wierd lately. in reverse it shudders some times and takes a moment to go in to gear. in forward it jumps out of gear and then back in gear at times while accelerating.

Sounds like it is loosing pressure. Fluid is low or filter plugged. Third is gunk in the transmission. Call around for an independent transmission shop. Ask about a shift kit for the trans. This made a huge difference in my 96.

Could be reverse planetary gear. Thats what happened on my third tranny after about 4500 miles of getting it installed.
