tranny flush? 100k?

recently got my oil changed an requested a tranny flush and fluid change. the guys at the shop said they recommended against it because i have 105k miles on it and have never had it changed. they said because of the way the clutch plate work in out trannies it would actually cause more harm that good. is this true? if i cant change the fluid it seems like i'm just waiting for it to tear up

Not changeing fluid is an old mechanics tale from the '50's and '60's. CHANGE THE FLUID!!!

Change the fluid. And find a new place to work on your truck.

For sure change the fluid, I just got a trans flush done today, $189 at ford! I have 110k on mine. I would do the flush then change the frame filter! that little guy is like $50! I had no change to my tranny, it runs even better if anything!http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ima.../icon_ford.gif

I just had my truck at a shop and they dont even do tranny flushes any more. Mechanic says it seems to do more harm than good.He also says more shops are stopping the tras flushes as well. He did service though, drained torque converter etc.
