Cautious Buyer
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to diesels, but i friggin love them and can't wait to get one. I love fords, been driving an F150 for awhile, so logically its time to step up to a powerstroke. I have found a pretty sharp 06 lariat, but it has 110,000 miles on it, but at a pretty good price. My question is what type of problems might i expect on a 6.0, what should i look out for when buying, and what maintenance do i need to be sure is done at this many miles?

if you are looking at a 6.0 get an oaisis report to see what warranty work was done. are you looking for a tow rig, fast truck ,or a daily driver?

In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with 6.0 liters Ford trucks. I've always noticed that the biggest problems are usually caused by lack of maintenance such as regularily changed oil.
The two most common problems with the 6.0’s that I've heard of are the injectors, and the turbo. |

Mostly a daily driver, capable of some towing (nothing too heavy), and yea, its gotta have some nuts to it.

I love my 6.0, change the oil every 5k and fuel filters every other oil change. If you go for power get a custom tuned sct programmer. with alot of power the 6.0 tends to lift the heads and blow gasgets. arp studs and a full egr delete will remedy that. make shure to get guages to monitor boost and egts.
