blowin lots of white smoke

heres the story. i had to make a run out of town for work. about a 700 mile round trip run. just into my trip my service engine light came on. i pulled into a truck stop to check things out. i noticed my coolant resevoir was low so i toped it off. later on the light went off. i came home yesterday with no problems, no lights on the dash, the truck performed fine. this morning i went out side and started my truck to let her warm up a bit. after about 10 min i went out to leave for work and noticed was truck was puffing white smoke. i took it down the street and it started blowing large amounts of white smoke, mosquito truck style. i know white smoke means i'm buring coolant. my question is typically where is the problem? head gasket, something in the turbo? the truck's motor is stock as far as i know and has abot 78K on it. it is in route on a flat bed to the dealer now.

see what the smoke smells like, if it burns your eyes its coolant

If it smells like coolant your EGR cooler is shot.

egr cooler blown, make sure you replace the oil cooler to , usually is the cause , and for the record , head gaskets dont cause coolant into the cylinders on a 6.0 engine , just will generally puke out of the reservoir
