Turbo Bark
2005 f350 dually - this just started the other day, when i let off the pedal my turbo "barks" out of what sounds like my intake. i unpluged the electrical plug on the front of my turbo and then it worked great but after alittle while it stopped producing boost but i can here the turbo spooling up, no boost on gauge, no power. i plugged the plug back in and same as before, barking when leting off gas. also when driving down the road, lots of noise coming out of exhaust like air is being pushed out exhuast, not into engine. maybe egr valve, my turbo valve. idk

The bark is pretty normal, The 6.0 has no waste gate. T he excess pressure has to go somwhere. Mine does it all the time. I kinda force it, sounds cool. The electrical connector on the Turbo is kinda required, It is an electrically driven , Oil/Pressure actuated turbo vane. Thats why you lost the turbo. I have a straight pipe exhaust and mine sounds like a jet engine at all times. The vanes could be sticking, it depends on how you drive it. If you baby it all the time, they will coke up.. You need to unlease the ponies once in a while to clear the carbon. Go roll coal on rice burner

I have read lots of threads on this "turbo fart" since I got mine new in 06. Mine has always done it, stock and modified. If you figure out a way around it let us know.
Good Luck! |

it can be normal and it may not be , all 6.0 engines make this noise , but the original poster is right , if the veins are stuck the noise will be twice as bad and alot more noticeable

By putting a BOV (blow of valve) such as a 50mm Tial will release the back pressure created by letting off the gas pedal quickly. I have one on my turbo-charged car and its sounds asome and you can scar the crap out of people walking down the street by releasing it next to them.
