Low EOT reading
Datalogged my truck on the highway today, when I started recording my ECT was 184* and my EOT was 137*.
Fifteen min later while still on the highway my ECT was 186* and my EOT was 128*. I am guessing I need a new oil temp sensor. My question is what kind of symptoms are associated with a bad oil temp sensor? |

I dont have elevated idle, but I thought eot and ect were only supposed to have 15-20* in varience.

eot should be higher than ect by no more than 20 degrees.
your oil temp is lower. safe to say bad sensor or blocked oil passage near sensor. |

Alwil as you know I'm having the same issues. Because of the low oil temp reading, I understand that the ECM will sense that the motor is still cold, and will cut fuel and timing, thus why I am having injectors cut out on me in the morning.
It doesn't elevate my idle because at idle in the driveway the temps are normal, as soon as I start driving and putting a load on it, my EOT drops. Even lower than yours. |
