Thinking of buying an '04 Powerstroke...

Hi guys, I am new here and joined because I am considering buying a Powerstroke truck. I have found an 04 with 220,000 miles on it, retired company truck. It's kinda rough but I think I can get in it for around 2500 bucks on a trade.

The only problem with it is that it has an inermittent skip to it. No smoke, decent power just skipping a little. It had not been started in about 4 days and it fired right up and idled perfect. It seems to skip worse under power in the lower gears (auto) and the warmer it gets it better it runs but it never completely clears up. Thanks for any help or opinions.

do you have a friend maybe thats a mechanic that can look at it before you buy it? It would suck if you traded for it and then 100mi down the road it pooped out on you
