2004 6.0 surging issue
Looking for some help...I have a 2004 250 CC/SB. I've only owned this truck for about 8 months. When I first got it had about 76000 miles on it, now it has 83000. Occasionally it would do (what I call) a surging when coming to a stop and or idle. After reading numerous threads on here, I was pointed at the EGR. So I cleaned the EGR and replaced it. Finally, the surging was gone...until last week, the dreaded surging returned.
I know this may sound crazy, but I feel that I have narrowed down the surging to when it rains?? Last week in the rain it began surging, dried out for a few days, surging gone. It rains today...surging back. Although I really don't want to take it to the dealer just to hear him say...cannot duplicate the problem, therefore no fix. Any ideas of what I could try, point in the direction of, etc? Thanks for any advise... Scott |

It sounds like it might be an engine harness issue. That would explain the wet weather problem. I would probably do a close inspection of the harness before I began spending money on it. Anywhere it comes in contact with the intake, head or bends around metal would be likely spots to find where it 'occasionally' shorts to ground. Apparently this is a common issue. Keep us posted.

Thanks to everyone that replied and tried to help me out. Took the truck to the dealer today and after they checked it out, they said that they needed to replace my ICP Sensor, and EGR.
Hopefully this has fixed my issue. I have only been able to drive it for a short time tonight. Time will tell. Scott |
