Yet Another 6.0
First I would like to thank this site for all the knowledge it supplies to us. It has opened my eyes to my truck.
And to all the knowledgeable people that give there time and advice. I have an 03 F250 6.0, K&N intake and SCT with DJ's Looney Tune. Twice it has not started, These have been cold starts, 70deg here in Florida but a cold start. Motor turns over fine but no fire. After 6-10 attempts I walked away from it both times and went back 10-15 minutes later and it fired right up. The second time it happened I pulled the fuel filter cap and it was full, so fuel didn't seem to be an issue. Went to a buddies shop and put it on his scanner thinking it might be an ICP or cam sensor and it didn't have these codes. It had an egr code, due to my tune or the fact that it is blocked off i assume and a KAM memory error code which I was told usually occurs due to a bad battery or connection. Any ideas on what would cause the no fire and not give a code? |

I am not sure if your truck is one of the years that is prone to having this issue, but there is a high pressure oil fitting that leaks and usually will create an excessive cranking, or no start symptom, but its also usually when its warm and the oil is thin.
Hopefully someone will be able to chime in with some more suggestions. |

Finally would not start at all. Got my buds scanner and behold ICP circuit open. Picked up new sensor and took intake tubing off to get ready to pull the turbo. Looked around to make sure I knew where it was before I got started, found it and plug was all but off of sensor.
Just did egr delete and y-pipe replacement 2 months ago, must have knocked the plug loose at that time and it finally came all the way off. FYI....no need to pull the turbo on that 03 for ICP change out. Just pull the Control Module. It can be had and easier than the turbo removal. |
