Lots of white smoke at start
I have an '05 350 and its starts real rough and blows alot of white smoke but once it warms up it goes away. Not sure why its doing this. My other truck needed a new egr cooler and was smoking but that was a consistant cloud of white smoke. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

White smoke on a cold start that clears is generally unburnt fuel from a bad injector(s). When you get up to temp a lot of the time it goes away. Have it checked out.
Not 100% sure that's your problem, but you'll know more once you get a good scan on it. |

could also be a glow plug issue. what are the temps where your from? he was not saying that. but when a truck starts rough and blows LOTs of white smoke something is generally wrong. |

Mine will do it if its cooler and depending on the moisture content of the air. Generally mine will not blow any smoke
