Unhappy Truck turns over no start after 3rd time no more cranking

Ok I guess you could say I am a diesel virgin and at the same time am new to this forum. I bought a 2003 Ford Excursion with the 6.0 with 170k miles on it. I bought it thru ebay and flew from NC to NY to get this truck. When I arrived there the truck ran good until I could not get it out of 4wheel drive so the dealer tried messing with the switch to no avail then decided to try to turn the truck on and off then aftter a few times the truck would not even turn over. The theft light came on and we concluded that this must be the cause. Later that evening after further investigation he concluded that it was not the theft system but a burned out wire to the starter. So here I go on my trek to NC 480 miles away. The whole trip back the truck ran great and I really enjoyed listening to the turbo. However 2 hours after returning back from the trip the truck would not start again. Frustrated I let it sit and rocked in gear and tried starting in Neutral and this worked. Now a day and a half later I am leaving from work and the truck turns over and does not fire. Again after three tries it does not turn over, let it sit and try it once more and fires right up. The truck is going to Ford Tommorrow but I would like to know if anyone has had an issue like this before?

Please help

If you're anywhere close to Winston Salem you need to contact Scuffy828 BEFORE you take it in to a dealer. He's a Ford master tech and can most certainly do you better than ANY Ford dealership you can take it to. The man straight up knows his stuff when it comes to a 6.0.

Scuffy828 is a moderator on this site. Since you have only one post you may have to send him an email instead of a PM.
