Installing 04 Egr Block off plate

I tried today to install a Elite EGR block off plate with no luck. I took off the down pipe, took the camp off of the egr cooler and took the clamp off the inlet side of the turbo. I was not able to move the up pipe back? I could get the plate in about 3/8" but would hit a flange or something? Is there a trick to this? It was a lot of work to not be able to "Drop it in " like Elite says. And the plate looks pretty cheap, not even cut perfectly round? For $35 I would think It would be a little better. Thanks for the help

I took the bolts lose from the manifold it is alot better to work with then. U gota go up thru the finder.
