To by or not to buy?

I'm thinking about buying (at least looking at) a 05 6.0 2wd work truck with 205k. I'm hoping to get it cheap because it has some engine issues. They said it can't be drivin and it smokes, knocks, shakes, etc. The smoke is blue and white. Is there a way to tell (by looking it over) if it has a bad injector, egr cooler or head gaskets. Doing some work on the truck to save some cash isn't a problem, but it sounds like a lot of work to change head gaskets from what I have been reading. Is this a truck to stay away from? Oh ya, it is a delivery truck at big rental company that I'm sure does all the servicing at the proper intervals. I'm thinking alot of idle time.

Sounds like it's gonna be a lot of work and you said it was a delivery truck. Well when ever I see a deliverly truck driving around the driver is driving it as if it's stolen or like a rental car.

Well, I went and looked the truck over today. When I got there the batteries were dead and the truck needed a boost. I check the hours and it turns out that the truck averaged about 40mph its whole life. When we got it charged, it turned over and locked up. Then it started leaking antfreeze by the cat. I'm leaning towards a EGR cooler problem, but HG's are sure a big posibility. They drove it to where its parked now, and had been sitting for a month. Anyone think that the problem may just be the EGR?

Well I bought the truck. Ebay Item number: 140311809401 . I hope that I didn't just make a big mistake. But for the price I just couldn't. Anyone think I should have left the trouble where it sat?

Try and hook it up to a good scan tool to check injectors. Coolant leaking external could be one of the hoses going to the egr cooler. I thought they were updated in 05, but there was an issue with a blue hose i think.

The only place that it's leaking outside of the engine is right infront on the cat out the exhaust pipe. Does anyone know the measurement between the tow hooks(center to center) in the bumper. I'm thinking about making up a tow bar to get the truck home.
