Unhappy need a new 6.0 motor.... it is a bad day in paradise

just got back from the ford store and they said that my computers memory shows that the engine oil temp when the truck shut down was 360* and the motor needs to be replaced they said the insides of the motor are metled.... the ford store wants $12,000 just for the motor and another $2000 to put the motor in.... it is my buddies truck and he owes $19,000 on the truck it is an 04 cc drw with 170k miles i think hes is going to have to let it go back if we can not find another motor for a decent price if anyone knows where i can find one or has one for sale please let me know...
thanks
kamron

everyone heaps praise on the almighty cummins, but i have seen first hand they are anything but bullet-proof, dad's 06 has spent half of its life being towed and fixed by dodge. his 03 has been almost trouble-free, but he also had a 99 & a 97 that had problems. on the other hand my 07 (73,000mi.) nothing but perfect and i also had an 04 that had no problems. some of the problems have to be driver induced, but also some have to be related to quirks during assembly and or poor workmanship, i'm not dismissing problems the 6.0's but i have not seen any in my own trucks

I know where there is a 6.0 sitting on a pallet in Geneseo, IL. that's for sale. Came out of an '06 that got a cummins swap. Has somewhere around 75k miles on it. I think the injectors are sold, and the turbo might be gone but the rest is still there. Ran good when pulled. PM me if you want more info or a contact number.
