6.0 blue smoke at idle and taking off?

82,000 miles???

thing runs great, its all stock with zoodad and a straight pipe exhaust.

I noticed it I think after I took the kitty out of the exhaust?

usually at cold idle it smoked blue, and the first taking off out of the driveway. After it warms up I think its fine.

Think I have a turbo seal going bad? I do alot of highway driving sometimes when I take the rig to work, between 2200-2500 rpm depending on traffic.

thanks!

does it run rough when you first start it up..shaking, chugging, anything like that. it could be an injector issues, if the turbo seals went bad you would most likely be able to see some oil in the down pipe. check there first and see if its dry or wet

Usually when an oil seal is going in the turbo you will notice alot of black smoke out the tailpipe.

its very subtle on the cold start, very faint fog of blue smoke coming out. There is no shaking or anything, very smooth normal cold start up.

after its warm there is no more smoking.

Thats interesting, my 05 had had a blue smoke issue since 5000 miles. Had the dealer look at it several times and found nothing. They even tryed to blame it on the Air Raid intake.

well i see no real issues with the truck, thats a relief though NEWT92, blown headgaskets? makes no sense really. I should at least have a overheating issue which I dont if I had blown head gaskets.

Same on my truck. Absolutely no smoke until I removed the cat. When I cold start the truck it blows just a slight wisp of light blue smoke until it's warm, then it goes away completely. Otherwise the truck starts and runs great. There is no oil smell in the smoke at all. All fluids normal, no fuel in the oil. The only thing I think could be a contributing factor is the 2-stroke oil I use each fuel up. The next couple of tanks I won't use the oil and will report back.
