Fuel gauge question

When the truck is running in park sometimes the fuel gauge just drops off . Is this some kinda of warning ? The low fuel light comes on and next time I start fuel gauge back to normal.

Nope not normal. Check the ground for corrosion, wires for chafes etc..

Lord I shall lead them to the water but I will not try to make them drink

My 2005 does the samething once in awhile.

Mostly does it when I park uphill (front up).

I need to change my sending unit. I prolly do it when I do my sump.

Ok the fuel pump is on the rail the sender and float switch is in the tank.
There is aground strap under the fender in front of the rear tire unbolt and check for rust/corrosion. There is a plug inby the rear tire on the frame rail check it as well.
Follow the wire loom to the front of the truck there will be a connector there as well check it too and the wireing as well.
