03 6.0 knocking

Had the truck and a mechanics and he thinks it sounds like a bent rod. I was thinking injector knock since it sounds similar to what my duramax did when the injectors knocked on it. Truck does shoot a code for injectors #6 & #3 also. I'll try and post a video

My 03 did the same thing a nice rod knock sound when I had about half the injectors go bad at once. It also smoked like a train tho. I would think it's injectors on it and since it has injector codes.

If a rod was bent it would smoke since the cylinder wouldn't be getting the proper compression.

If a bearing was spun. That's another story

You could have a situation in which there is so much fuel in a cylinder that it's trying to compress it causing a knock. I'd remove the glow plugs in those two cylinders and crank it to see if a bunch of fuel blows out. If so, you'll know injectors caused the knock but you then need to cross your fingers and hope that it hasn't bent a rod yet.

If it was over fueling it would smoke.

Still can't figure out how to put a video on YouTube from my phone to post. But it gives me trouble starting in the mornings and gives a damn good size puff of smoke when it finally starts. Also it takes a few seconds to build oil pressure once it is started. Hpop was supposedly replaced less then 10k ago. Not sure if that info helps
