So I have a little white smoke when I start my truck does not matter what the outside temp is, after its up to opertating temp it goes away. doing some research on here I parked the truck in my driveway nose down and pulled the egr valve and what do I see moisture in the intake. Now the interesting part my egr has been deleted and the cooler completely removed also doesnt appear to be any loss of coolant. Is there anywhere else that coolant or possibly oil could enter the intake?:dunno:
that is my concern but when i look into the intake the fluid doenst look like oil if anything it looks like water which is why i was thinking it was coolant but its hard to tell since i tried to wipe a bit out with a rag it just gets mixed with soot. the white smoke doesnt smell like anything except exhaust believe me i have checked. do you know of a way i can check if it is oil blowing back? maybe a blow by test and pull the oil fill cap off? i do have a p0401 is it possible the egr is not venting properly and causing condensation when the enigne is off would that create white smoke if it was just water?:dunno:
