As the title says coolant loss. Noticed it last week while pulling the pontoon boat. Deltas are staying within 9 degrees of each other over 45 minute drive. Pressure tested the system and at 16 it starts dumping fluid up near the turbo. EGR deleted. SCT tunes on tow setting. Any ideas? Head gaskets I'm sure...
I doubt it with that delta. The cap is supposed to vent at 16psi. So if you pressureized your system to 16 psi or above your system probably vented. Do you have a white crud around the cap of your degas bottle?
I'll have to check the computer when I get back but I think it got up to about 205. The largest difference was at slower speeds. No white residue. I tested at 16 psi and watched run down the block until it hit around 13 psi.
If it it did relieve pressure, why would have been in the turbo area?
The oil cooler has a pear shaped o-ring that covers the housing that sends water to the EGR, you could have a problem up there. Or the blue hose in that same spot could be the bad one.
Found the problem! Guy before me put heater hose with clamps on instead of a proper repair. Heading to the ford house now to pick up oem parts.
