Sputter & Hiccup
Hey Guys need your help.
Have a 2004 King Ranch 4x4 6.0 with edge juice & airaid intake. Recently took trip from Dallas to Il. Ran fine on the way down however, on the way back it started sputtering. Had it on auto pilot at about 75mph and while pulling a hill it started missing and sputtering to the point were it would downshift to keep the speed. Did this all the way back to the house (500 miles). The truck has recently been sitting for about 6months and only driven a few times prior to trip. |

more than likely you have one or two injectors dropping out. that said, does it run good cold and then bad after it warms up. does it start ok cold....hot. and if it sat that long, was the rough running symptom right after it started after sitting? there has been some high pressure oil system o ring failures (usually runs rough hot, and will not or starts very tough hot) and also, i have seen a few on the lot, low milage vehicles usually, that sit for more than 2 months without being started, and the valves stick. upon start up with the stuck valve it bends the pushrod, then misses untill the pushrod is replaced. most of them were just due to sitting, although i have replaced one head do to a sticking valve. as i said before though, i would almost put money on it you have a bad injector.

90% sure, based on what you told me, that it would be an injector failure from what you told me.
