6.0 shut off while driving

My 6.0 shut off while driving home from work thurs night. Took it to the shop I bought it from and they flashed the computer and said a code came up saying it lost conncetion with the computer. Reflashed it and said it was good to go. Picked it up this morning, and it is broken again. 20 miles from pick up and it shut itself down and wont start again. Anyone else had this problem??

Sounds like an oil leak. Shuts off hot and restarts cold.

I was eastbound coasting downhill on I68 in Maryland towing a 10,000 pound fifth wheel with the toe/haul on doing 62 mph. The transmission had down shifted and all was going great when the check guage light came on! I saw the tranny temp on cold and engine temp on cold and rpms on zero. The engine had just shut down!! Coasted to the side of the highway. Had battery to everything but the engine. It was dead!! Tried to start and nothing, not even a click. Got towed and the Ford dealer in Cumberland, Md. found that the wiring harness had chaffed and the glow plug module wiring had shorted and blew F2.22 fuse. Repaired the wires at GPCM (red-ckt and bu/wh-ckt 160 at C1273B). Not sure what all that is but the truck runs like new again after repair. Pretty scary though!!

I had a similar problem at a red light my truck just turn off, but it started after 5 min. of trying. It felt like it was strving for fuel. Took it to the dealer and they put a on board computer and i had to drive it until it did it again, but it never did it again. I finally found the problem that it was the diesel fuel i was using from arco gas station.

High Pressure Oil Pump? Few months ago, mine just stopped dead cold and had to be towed. HPOP died. Without it, injectors just don't seem to work properly.

High Pressure Oil Pump - mine went out a few months back. Engine just stopped. Would crank but not fire - towed to dealer, HPOP out. The injectors just don't work to well without the oil pressure to drive them.
