Fuel Gauge Short

Occasionally when I start my 6.0 the fuel gauge does not raise up and my miles left on info center has all lines. I can restart a couple of times and it works as it should. This does not always happen, just every once in a while. Has anyone else experienced this?

probably the sending unit in the tank. they very commonly go bad. and if it isnt giving a signal, the overhead trip computer cant tell you how many miles left.

So I guess it starting to tell me it will eventually go out. I guess that is one of those things I will wait until it goes out. Not looking forward to either raising the bed or dropping the tank. Thanks for the info.
