Excessive Oil leak?

So I got my oil changed a couple of weeks ago. Bought the truck used with about 72,000 miles on it. I don't like running a newly purchased, used vehicle too long before changing the oil because you just don't know for sure how long it's been since its last change.

Well, I had the local Ford shop do it and when I pulled up to my parking spot the day after, there was a huge oil spot present that wasn't there before. No big deal, that sort of thing happens. Well, when putting my exhaust on today, I noticed that it is definately a class 2 leak.

My oil level is fine. Tomorrow I will wipe down the pan and take a few pics and then keep an eye on it. Can I expect this type of mess after every oil change or did ford have their special kids change my oil and they got it everywhere? It doesn't seem to be coming from the turbo or anything. There's so much wetness all around the pan that I can't tell if it's leaking from the gasket or not. Should I be concerned?

BUMP

and

Took some pics and wiped it down. Will keep and eye on it. When I bought the truck, I went underneath and specifically looked for excessive oil seepage and saw nothing.

2005... and nothing near the dip stick port coming out of the block.

Just checked it again after driving it a little earlier. Have some more seepage located on the transmission like in the pictures above. Am guessing that I might have a bad gasket... perhaps towards the rear of the oil pan? I'm guessing I'd have to lose quite a bit before I'd notice a reduction on the dip stick.

I should add that when I had it changed at the dealership, there was oil all over the place when I got it back. It was pretty bad and it looked like they made no effort to wipe anything off. Am wondering if I'm simply seeing run off from this however I would think that all this would've cooked off or drained away by now.

the oil pan doesnt get that hot to cook it off. gasket maybe. did you run your finger over it to make sure its engine oil and not something else? wipe it again and wipe the gasket on the oil pan if you can reach it.

also, did you look on top of the engine to see if theres oil on top like someone spilled oil on it or a possible leak?

There is a copper washer on the drain plug, this needs to be replaced after every other oil change or so.

I turn mine over after the first oil change and then replace it after the second.

Mine had a little oil on the pan after I had it changed at a "lube shop" some time ago.

"Evapotranspiration" is the term I've found best to describe this situation.

Remember were talking 6.0's, and they do have a copper washer. I'm not saying this is the problem, just giving him some ideas to look at.

I agree with Choctaw but if it isn't the washer then maybe a Bedplate or there is an oil type tube that runs on the back of the motor and that could leak. Mine did that and it was the oil tube.

Crush Washer is present on the drain plug. Having taken it to an actual Ford Stealership for the oil changed, I have to assume they changed out the crush washer but who knows...

The gasket seems to be fine along the sides of the oil pan. The fluid you see in the pictures above located on the transmission is definately oil. The starter has a lot of oil on it as well.
