battery light/ belt tensioner issue

the last few weeks ive been getting an intermittent battery light.. itll go on and off randomly for short spurts but the last day or two its been on constantly. i stopped and had a battery load test, which passed and an alt test. it read 11.4v. is there any way i can check if its a tensioner before i drop the money/ labor into an alt?

Lock tentioner in the unload position and check the pulleys. Incase you dont know there is a latch to do that. Sounds like alt though also low voltage could take out the ficm
