I worked on an 04.5 truck today with a no start. Got the P2614 code so I figured this was a harness issue. Just to be sure I checked the cmp sensor with ohmmeter it had 870. So i began undoing the harness all the way from the sensor to the pcm plug. The way its routed in between the head and the front cover I had to cut it there. After all was stripped out there is a ground circuit wire that is wrapped around the two wires. Get rid of that. Thats the culprit of the harness failure the ground wire is bare and you can see the imprint of the bare wire on the sleeve of the red and orange wire. I couldn't find any bare spots at all. So i spliced the harness back together and plugged in to test and she fired up. I taped it all back up and reinstalled the flex around the wires. Didn't reroute the wires near the head just ran down by the power steering pump taping up the excess. I don recommend this as a permanent fix but it will get you home. Hope this is helpful.
