Loss of power/turbo in -11 degrees this morning
I experienced a loss of power and turbo boost this morning while driving in -11 degree weather. I am guessing that my diesel fuel was starting to gel but I am not sure. I was climbing a long slight incline on the highway at the time and barely made it over the crest of the hill dropping from 60 mph to about 30 mph. I took the next exit and pulled into a parking lot at which time the power and turbo boost came back. Again on the freeway about 5 miles later, I experienced the same loss of power. This happened about 4 times total. I added some 911 to the fuel system and let the truck idle for about 15 minutes in the parking lot here at work this morning and it seems to be acting normal. I have never had this problem in the past. My plan is to fill up with some good diesel on the way home and add some diesel fueline antifreeze.
Has anyone else experienced this with their diesel? Am I on the right track with my thinking? Any other suggestions, comments or ideas? Thank you in advance for any and all help!
