P0404 code

Ok, I have read all of the post's for this code and still do not have an aswer for this. I have 2006 6.0, Banks 6 Gun, 4" cat back and the AFE Stage II where I believe the problem lies. I bought AFE about 3 months ago. I got the original intake tube and got the check engine light. I called AFE and they said that they were working on a tube design. In the mean time I put the stock intake back in with a drop in AFE filter, no code for two months. I got the new tube last week and got the code again. My questions are as follows: If I take it to the dealer for a new EGR valve are they going to say it's not covered under warranty? If is isn't covered and I buy one will this fix the problem? Is there a stronger valve that will not throw the code? One more thing I do want to say is that AFE did send me a free drop in filter while I was waiting for the new tube design.

Thanks

I bought a OBD II code reader that will erase the code. Is it worth taking it to the dealer and have another egr valve put in? Is there a bypass and if so what are the down sides to bypassing?

Thanks

u can clear the code or install a valve all day long, but the problem is there is now not enough backpressure for the egr to flow the way the computer would like it to, so it throws a code. The only way to bypass it is to electronicaly (programmer) disable the egr

Unplug the EGR valve and weld it shut. I'd think that would cure it's problem.
