still driveable for a few thou?

New alt. good ficm and batteries are good. reading only 12.5 v at batteries at idle with lights/heater running. Wondering if driving it a few thousand kilometres will be detrimental...?

No not sarcasm there is a reason we say drive a 6.0 like ya stole it.
Puttering around on day to day city driveing alot of stuff doesn't really get a good work out so to speak.

For the alternator running it faster for a period of time can clean buildup off the brushes and generally improves out put and performance. Constantly running around idle it will sometimes not fully charge the battery's.
