Question Ruff Idle Blowing White Smoke

HELP!!! 2004 6.0 f-350 4x4. 79000 org. miles. Truck had Bulletproof oil cooler in 2010 @ 43000K, new egr at that time. Truck was running fine, was moving hay into barn pulling low-boy, (it had done about 2 hrs of idling in field) finished, went to back trailer to un-hook and it starts surging, then running ruff. No power with gas to floor, max speed 10mph and will back down to 5mph. Changed fuel filters next morning, ran better until engine warmed up, then ran really ruff, blowing lots of white smoke. Pulled egr and cleaned it, really had very little soot. No change in the way truck was running. Went to test FICM and voltage meter took a dump, pulled it and sent it out anyway to be rebuilt with up-grade. It will be back in a few days. No idiot lights came on, all gauges read good. Fresh oil, (less than 800 miles, new air cleaner, new fuel filters) Not sure the FICM was bad. Any thoughts on what could be wrong???? Thanks!!
