Question Overheating and puking

I am currently on a vacation in Colorado and I am having some issues. While towing my 14000 LB 5er I started having overheating issues. The temps would hit 240 and then drop quickly, I am also having puking out the degas bottle. I have replaced the degas cap and have blocked off the EGR gas pipe with the "sneeky pipe and the blockoff plate", when I tow I run ID's tow tune. The top temp for EGRs has been 1300 for short periods 1 to 3 mins. The oil temp seams to hold steady in the middle. I do not see any white smoke out the tailpipe either. It never overheats when I run the Xtreme street tune but it does puke on occasion. I have put 2 gallons of coolant in in the last 2 days. Its is puking a lot.
Could I be looking at needing an oil cooler and egr cooler even though I blocked off the hot gas to the EGR cooler, or could it be head gaskets and only blowing past the gasket under a load.
And last and possibly the most important, as long as I keep enough coolant in the system can I get home to KC from Denver area without doing to much damage?
Oh, and does anyone know of a good and mod friendly dealership in the KC MO area for the warranty work ?

do not tow with tuner on.

after you over tune a stock truck, most warranty work is at owner risk.

I had the exact same thing happen going to Taylor park Co from Oklahoma. Took it to my Ford dealer and he said it was a loose clamp on the bottom of the degus bottle, I am a little skeptical that this was the problem. did you ever find out anything else about yours?

Unhappy Still puking

I made it home but will not have a chance to get it in till last of Aug or Sept. All together I have gone through 8 gallons. I puked and over heated towing stock and it pukes when I run the Xtreme street tune. It doesn't overheat though. I notice the puking only when I get on it and hit EGTs around 1200 to 1300 for a short time like a minute min and a half and the boost gets around 23 to 25 max.
I will post when I find out the prognosis.

I have heard that Rob Sight Ford is pretty mod friendly. They are off 150 highway and 135th street. That is just what I have heard though, that's where I take my truck and they always take care of me.

Unfortunately it sounds like a head gasket. I just went through the same thing with my '05 6.0 and towing my Gearbox toyhauler. Running empty it would be fine, but as soon as I put my foot to the floor up a hill, the temp would spike, blow off the cap and then plummet back down. At high compression and heat, the head gasket was leaking into the cooling passages causing the pressure to spike, which blew off the cap, boiled over the coolant, then resealed and the temp dropped. When I took it into the dealer they checked the differential first (since just about everything is easier than doing a head gasket) cap pressure test, EGR cooler vacuum test, clutch fan test and after all that was negative, they did the head gasket. The way they do the head gasket is to remove the cab, 24hrs labor...
