2psi Oil Pressure
I have a 2005 f-250 with 6.0L. The oil pressure gauge in dash read no pressure till u accel to about 1200 rpms. I replace the pressure switch and still nothing. So i hooked up a gauge through the oil temp sensor and it reads 2psi at idle. When u accel to 1200 rpms it reads 12psi. I checked the oil filter and the oil filter outlet tube had a spring and small plastic piece sitting in the top of the tube (not where it should be). I Replaced the tube assembly but still have the same problem.
Is that spring in the tube the anti drain back valve? If not where is the valve located at? Also any thing else i can check to see why i have 2psi oil pressure at idle?

update
where to start. I pulled out the oil pressure regulator and replaced it and got 3 psi on my gauge now. So i pulled the oil pump housing and checked the specs and they are good. There was no obvious damage on the pump, no pits or cracks on the gears. I'm going to try and replace it just to see if something weird is going on. Any other help or places to look? ![]() ![]()

Pressurize the hp oil system and check for leaks. Iv seen a few that had very small leaks and would suck the low pressure system dry.
