6.0L surging/Choking while towing

I was towing up a 6% grade in Oregon this weekend, towing a 10k toy hauler. I was using Matt's 13k tow tune. As I'm heading up the grade, the motor started choking/surging around the 2800 Rpm range, 4th gear, boost was 20 psi. If Let up on the skinny the surging went away, if I mashed on it, the surging went away. All of my temps checked out ok. Trans 175, EOT 220, ECT 212. This has happened twice now. Truck drives completely fine when not towing.

Does anyone have any input, or has this happened to any one else?

I had this happen to me also while pulling a 28ft toy hauler. I figured it to be an issue between the truck and trailer (hitch and receiver) and didn't have anything to do with the motor or trans itself for sure though.

I've read a few posts about it being the trailer connection. This was definetely with the motor as the rpms were reflecting the surges. Truck runs fine right now
