Random no start, no engine rpm increase

I have an 05 excursion with the 6.0L. I have gone to start the truck and it will chug for a bit and shut off. Eventually it did start but when I went to accelerate there was nothing. Pushed the pedal to the floor and nothing. I idled along for a little bit and all if a sudden it started driving normal again. Went out this morning and it started normal and drove normal. I have an Edge insight but not sure where I should be looking. I brought up the accelerator position sensor and EGR pids but not sure what else I should be looking at. Also I noticed the voltage at idle was around 12.5 volts but anytime above idle went to 13.5 volts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stock for now but who owns a diesel that doesn't get the itch for more and more power? It's an addiction and I am getting my fix!!

Could have been just a glitch. Has this happened more than once?

The start and chugging has happened before and since but not the no throttle response. It seems to me that it is running out of fuel. I just replaced both filters with motorcraft filters about 2 weeks ago.

I am having pretty much the same problem. It starts fine, hot or cold. But randomly I have no power or rpm increase, then a few minutes later it runs like hell.

Have you found out what's causing this?
