HELP WITH HP OIL SYSTEM,

HEY THERE , IM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH HP OIL SYSTEM , RUNS GREAT WHEN COLD BUT AFTER ITS WARMED UP HAS A HARD TIME STARTING , IF I BURN DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF , I WILL BARLY MAKE 350PSI BUT IF I LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 15 MINS OR SO IT WILL SLOWLY CLIMB UNTILL IT STARTS. SO I DUG INTO IT TONIGHT, I PUT AIR TO THE OIL RAIL , COMMANED THE IPR SHUT AND PUT 150 LBS OF AIR TO IT FOR ABOUT 15 MINS ,THE ONLY SOUND I HERE IN IT GURGLING IN THE OILFILTER PRETTY BAD ,MY QUESTION IS IF THE OILFILTER NOISE IS NORMAL OR NOT , AND IF IT IS THEN ITS PROBLY LOOKIN LIKE THE HPOP RIGHT? AND IT DOES HAVE A BRAND NEW IPR
MY TRUCK IS A LATE BIULD 04.

Gurgleing in the filter houseing and no external leaks points to a pump problem. Since you have an 04 you have the failure prone sqashplate type pump. In 05 they went to a 4 piston type pump, more reliable and robust.

I would suspect the pump also. An 04 doesn't have the same style dummy plugs as an 05 and up. I've never seen one wear out on an early with the 1/2" square drive head.

For piece of mind I would replace the J-tube also.

thank you guys I thought it was probly the pump too, just wanted some reassurance .ill put it back together thismorning with a new pump
