EGR delete, Now bad MPG

Hello, did a Sinister EGR delete on my truck last Friday, way less fun than I imagined... Anyway, was getting 15.8 mpg per the trucks gas-o-meter, now after the delete and new upipe install it reads around high 13's no matter how I drive... Why the difference? I also may have put a healthy sized gash in the PCV hose while putting it back together, would that cause that big of dip in MPGs??? Thanks guys!

IMO you can in no way go by what the factory fuel mileage gauge is telling you. I can fill up reset my fuel mileage gauge go drive on the highway for 30 or so miles and the gauge will tell me I am getting 18mpg of which that would probably be close but not accurate. Then drive around town for the rest of the tank and the gauge may drop in mpgs but not much. I know good and well I am not getting that fuel mileage around town so I hand calculate my mileage. Sure enough mpgs are around 15.4 and gauge is showing around 17. So don't believe your mileage gauge and no your delete will not cause you to get less mpgs.
