Turbo noise at 5-8psi
Just finished doing dummy plugs, standpipes, STC fitting, and an EGR delete on my 2006 F250. Got it all back together and this problem showed up. I've done a bunch of interweb research, but have yet to come across the exact same problem I'm having.
Between 5-8 psi of boost, it has a squealing noise if you hold it in that range. If you get on it and it passes quickly through the 5-8 range, its almost a chirping noise. As it comes down off the boost, same noise.
The truck runs perfect. No lack of boost, starts perfect, no lack of power, etc.
Most folks that have an exhaust leak after this type of work have the noise constantly once the boost builds. Mine goes away immediately once it passes through about 7psi.
I thought VGT solenoid as the noise is DIRECTLY associated with how quickly the boost comes on. Most problems with that have loss of boost and/or power. I do not, It pulls like a tractor all through the boost range, noise and all.
Thanks in advance for the input!
