Trust Me I Think I May Just Have To Do That! The Dealership I Bought The Truck From Has Only One Diesel Tech Working For Them And Is A Small Place But Come On I Spent Alot Of Money For This Truck. I Guess I'll Have To Start Calling Around For Another Dealer. Tomorrow Morning I Will Email You My Vin #. Should I Send It In A Pm Or In The Forum? By The Way, Thanks Marc And To The Rest Of You Guys! It Sure Gets Lonely Here On Third Shift And The Advice You Guys Share Is True And Honest!!!!!!!

Same old song and dance.

I hate to see anyone having problems but the truth is it happens. I have seen some 6.0's with a few major problems but at my dealer they are few and far between. I as a tech LOVE the 6.0 personally. Good power and fuel economy. The local blasting company that I speak of has an '04 and '05 that now have 155,000 miles and 132,000 miles. The '04 with 155,000 has never had an injector, egr, turbo or anything put in. The '05 finally had an egr put in it last oil change. These truckes are RUN HARD, fenders all tore up, a foot of mud stuck to the frame and they run about 18-20mpg. Awesome trucks. But when you have as many trucks as Ford has Super Dutys on the road the percentage of problems goes up based on sheer volume. Heck, we have an '07 with 6 miles on it in the shop now that might need a motor! It happens! I can tell you one thing. I have been a loyal Chevy guy all my life! The only non Chevys I own are my BMW 325i and my 2fiddy. You couldnt give me a Chevy truck "HD"! What a pain in the A$$ to work on!

Well The Truck Is Back Up And Running Like A Raped Ape Again! Marc Gave Me Some Insights As To How To Handle This Situtation And I Am Actively Working On Them. I Checked Into The Lemon Law And My Truck Falls Under The Terms But It Is Really Hard To Take This Battle To Court! For Now I Will Go With It And See What Happens Down The Road. Trust Me, If It Starts Acting Up Again I Will Let You All Know And Contact A Lawyer! I Forgot How Much Fun And Power My Truck Had Because I Had Been Babying It Because Of All The Problems. It's Amazing That A Dually With The Powerstroke Will Spin The Tires From A Dead Stop!:d

I go to pick up my truck this afternoon after being in the shop now for most of the last 3 weeks. The service man said truck is running high oil temperature and a vacuum leak inside turbo. Sounds like a load of crap. The tech when I spoke to him claims he couldn't find anything so they were replacing turbo. I asked him if the Duramax was better, dead silence, he then told me Ford was coming out with the 6.4. I will keep you posted on results.

All I can say is try to talk to Marc and see what his insights are instead of just bad mouthing the tech and Fords in general. Right now mine is fine but I also understand that ANY truck can have problems. There is a solution for your truck and the only way to get help is to ask for it, not just complain about it. Trust me we will all go out of our ways to help you out if you want it.

They cleaned the EGR, and cleaned my turbo plus I had 2 recalls that they took care of. One thing Marc and a bunch of other guys have told me is that we need to run the turbo wide open sometimes to help with the carbon issues. I kinda babied mine but now I let it rip!

Keep us posted and press the flight recorder issue so when something happens all you do is push a button and it will record the parameters that the tech sets. Have you called Ford customer service? If not then I would do so! Squeaky wheel gets the grease if you know what I mean!

Your truck sounds like its doinig what mine did when injectors started leaking down into the crank oil. Check you r oil level and if it l ooks overfull, theres your problem. Just a hunch but you described the same issue that is outlined in TSB 04-9-3 which outlines fuel leaking down from fail injectors and overfilling the crank case with fuel, resulting in diluted oil which causes poor lubrication and "can" be cause for engine replacement.

I may be way off on this but don't over look that possibility like i did. The tech didn't diagnose it right away and was very suprised when he tested some injectors, they were leaking, and then he pulled the dipstick and the oil level showed way overfull.
Google the TSB 04-9-3 and see if you can find it. I just had it up last night at home reading it and I will look for it again and try to post it here.

I picked up truck Friday afternoon after they installed turbo. They handed me a bill for $1400 which I refused to pay and told them I would take up the issue with Ford. After 20 miles on the way home truck shuddered and died but then started right up. Transmission also seems to have a hard time shifting now. They had replaced seal in rear 5,000 miles ago and now it to is leaking again. I drove 140 miles today and my wife said she will no longer go with me in the truck for fear of being stranded. At 2500 rpms the whole truck vibrates. I checked my oil which they just changed a week ago when they changed #5 injector and it does look like it is overfull by at least a quart. Has no fuel smell though. On cold startup truck now sounds like it is going to die. I am not trying to badmouth Ford or the techs. I am just stating problems I am experiencing. I emailed Ford a week ago but no results. I am going to try to call them tomorrow and hopefully not get a runaround. I hate to lose $15,000 on truck but to me it is useless. I need a truck that is dependable not a pocket drainer. Every time truck is taken to dealer it is 40 miles each way and to pay for fuel for 2 vehicles each time is senseless. Truck has been in the shop 3 times in the past 3 weeks and thanks to Marc who ran an oasis truck was to dealers for repairs 4 times in the 12,000 miles before I purchased it. Just think of the expenses of owning these trucks after the warranty expires. I never thought you needed a bumper to bumper warranty on diesels but I am so thankful that I have a 70,000 mile coverage on this heap.
